Main theme: Relationship with God
Lesson 3: HOLINESS
3(c) Topic: What obstructs us from leading a holy life?
Passages: 1 Peter 1:13-2:3(Lesson 3 Week 1), Romans 12:1-2(Lesson 2 MACS), Ephesians 4:22-24, Colossians 3:1-17(Lesson 3 Week 2)
The above passages were used for the discussion questions; feel free to use any materials that are relevant to the topic.
Discussion Questions:
The first week’s topic was on being holy (1 Peter 1:13-2:3), so;
How has living a life that is ‘holy’ ever been difficult for you?
What is the main issue that makes it difficult/easy to lead a holy life?
How can this MAC group help you lead a holy life?
In order to change circumstances, one must first start with changing themselves.
Romans 12:2 tells us not to ‘conform any longer to the world’ and Ephesians 4:22 says to ‘put off our old self’
Can you identify how you have been ‘conforming to the world’ and any aspects in your ‘old self’ that you must ‘put off’?
After identifying the aspects in your life which you must put off in order to lead a holy life, what have you learnt from last week‘s lesson in leading a holy life? (Colossians 3:1-17)
Application for the Week:
From what you have learnt the past two weeks on being holy and rules for holy living, if you want to lead a holy life, you must first start by changing yourself. Then identify things in your life, be it in school or your group of friends, which have been a hindrance to you rather than a help.
